Taiji Kung Fu Fan (Deyin Institute)
I have just returned from a Fan instructors course. There were 9 of us on the course and we all passed. Well done to everyone there. 5 of us were there for the full 4 days which included detailed and in depth instructions on all the moves in the form plus synchronisation with the music.
We stayed at Harborne Hall in Birmingham - a lovely venue with great food. They catered for all needs and nothing was ever too much trouble.
On the Sunday we all did our assessments and at 4.30pm we received our certificates from Faye, duly photographed by Tary. You can see the report and photos by visiting http://www.deyin-taiji.com/instructor_courses/fan_course_report_2010.htm
This is a fabulous form to learn however you do need to know some tai chi before trying it out. If anyone is interested in learning the form then please contact me and I can point you in the right direction.

Displays and demonstrations
Recently my group and some of Mike's YMAA group performed at the Liverpool Bold Street festival. This is a great way of demonstrating what Tai Chi is and as a group we will consider any requests for similar displays/demonstrations. Please email me or leave a comment.

I'm a plinther!
10th October 2009 at 5pm saw me on top of the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of Antony Gormley's latest Art project - One and Other. I had applied and won a place for the final weekend. My hour was spent doing Tai Chi starting with the first Qigong set and Tai Chi form that I ever learned and finishing with my latest Tai Chi achievement - the Taiji Kung Fu Fan form. It was the most amazing experience and one that I will treasure forever. The whole thing has been immortalised in video on the One and Other website and next year there is to be a book published. Check out my hour at:
